Earth Electrodes & Bentonite

Earth Electrodes

An earth electrode is a crucial component of an electrical grounding system, designed to provide a direct physical connection between an electrical installation and the earth. Its primary function is to safely dissipate fault currents, lightning strikes, and static discharges into the ground, reducing the risk of electric shock, equipment damage, and fire hazards.

Our earth electrodes are made from 100% highly conductive and corrosion-resistant copper. They come in various diameter sizes and different lengths for single phase and three phase installations.

Proper installation and maintenance of earth electrodes are essential to ensure a low-resistance path to the earth, enhancing electrical safety in buildings and industrial facilities.

Bentonite

Bentonite is used in earth electrodes to improve grounding by lowering ground resistance. It absorbs and holds moisture, helping to keep the ground conductive even in dry conditions. When mixed with water and placed around grounding rods, it forms a protective, conductive layer that helps safely disperse electrical currents, such as lightning strikes or fault currents.

Benefits of Bentonite in Earth Electrodes:

Better Conductivity: Keeps the ground moist, reducing resistance.

Long-Lasting: Prevents drying and cracking around the electrode.

Safe for Metals: Does not corrode grounding rods.

Eco-Friendly: A natural and safe material.
